Indiana 2015 Tax Amnesty Program
It was announced recently by Indiana Governor Mike Pence, that the Indiana Department of Revenue will conduct the Tax Amnesty 2015 program from September 15, 2015 to November 16, 2015. This program is a limited-time opportunity to allow individuals and businesses to pay past-due base tax liabilities without having to pay any penalties, interest, or collection fees. All existing tax types that are managed by the Indiana Department of Revenue are eligible to participate in the programs for periods ending prior to January 1, 2013. The state will also release tax liens that have been imposed on existing liabilities and will not seek any civil or criminal prosecution against the entity or the individual. During Indiana’s first tax amnesty program, in 2005, the state collected $244 million in taxes. Taxpayers who participated in the 2005 program are not eligible for the 2015 program. If you think you may be eligible to participate in the current program, please contact your tax advisor.
